Boeing has filed an unfair labor practice charge with the National Labor Relations Board (NRLB) against the Machinists union representing its striking workers, accusing them of not bargaining in good faith. Acrimony and frustration are growing as the strike extends into its fourth week. Boeing withdrew its latest offer to the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, citing the union's refusal to seriously consider the proposal after two days of talks.

Emphasis On Growing The Future of Aviation Through Concentration on 'AFFORDABLE FLYERS'

That massive 1100 page book last featured over 800 exciting sport aircraft from all over the SportPlane universe... at a time when the SportPlane industry was still a healthy, thriving enterprise (those were the days...). While there has been some consideration, off and on, toward updating the nearly 5 pound book, the near implosion of the SportPlane and kit industry over the last decade has made such a pursuit an unwieldy one... until now.

Studying Lunar Surface Material For Construction Sites
Cadets from the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Arizona Wing’s Davis-Monthan Composite Squadron 334 had the opportunity to participate in experiments with the University of Arizona’s Biosphere 2 Director, Trent Tresch, studying lunar materials for potential construction on the Moon. The cadets used some high-tech equipment and got to launch some experiments they developed with Tresch as their submission to the CAP’s national High Altitude Balloon Challenge. One experiment used lunar aggregate from moon rock samples to mix a form of concrete that might be readily available on the lunar surface. The experiment was designed to see how the material behaves at very high altitudes.

From 2017 (YouTube Edition): Airplane Upgraded With 912iS Engine And More
Van's Aircraft has made several upgrades to its popular RV 12 model, starting forward of the firewall and continuing through much of the airplane. The most obvious of the changes is the installation of the Rotax 912iS engine. The new engine produces more torque which improves the climb rate and cruise. On September 3, attorneys for the FAA issued a legal interpretation of 14 CFR §43.3(d), which changes how the FAA views the model of standard maintenance supervision that has been in place since the 1960s and threatening general aviation maintenance operations. The language of §43.3(d) defines the process through which anyone was allowed to perform maintenance on aircraft, but not inspections, provided they are supervised by someone certificated to perform the task being done. This allows shops to train new mechanics and allows for owner-assisted maintenance. It also allows shops to utilize more staff resources, which makes the entire maintenance industry function more efficiently.
