Behavior Reported By Witnesses In Five-Star Resort In Cape Verde
British low-cost airline group easyJet suspended one of its captains after being reported by guests who witnessed him drunk and naked at a luxury resort hotel in Cape Verde on August 5. He was due to fly a return leg to London Gatwick more than 36 hours later but the airline grounded him after the complaints and locating a replacement pilot.

A uniquely painted 1958 Cessna Skyhawk, which had already been reported stolen once this summer, was recovered on the night of August 3 after being taken from Brackett Field in La Verne, California. The plane, owned by 75-year-old Jason Hong of Yorba Linda, was first stolen from Corona Municipal Airport sometime between May and late July. Falling just short of the 30,351-jump record, the 2025 World Skydiving Day counted 26,718 skydives from almost 40 countries. The United States topped the charts this year, with more than 13,000 jumps logged in the 24-hour period. The FAA has unveiled a new workforce plan that aims to hire 8,900 air traffic controllers by the end of 2028, with 2,000 of those hires expected in 2025. After a flight that was supposed to last days turned into one that lasted months, Butch Wilmore has retired -- following a total of 25 years at NASA, flying in four different spacecraft, and accumulating 464 days in space. During his time at NASA, Wilmore completed three missions launching aboard the space shuttle Atlantis, Roscosmos Soyuz, and Boeing Starliner to the International Space Station. The U-2 Dragon Lady was on display all week at AirVenture. It was a homecoming of sorts for the aircraft but even more so for its pilot. Lt. Col.
