CAF Celebrating Prototype’s First Flight July 28, 1935
The Commemorative Air Force Airbase Arizona is taking its “Flying Legends of Victory Tour” to Boeing Field/King County International Airport (KBFI) in Seattle, Washington, where its prized B-17G Sentimental Journey will land on July 28, 2025 to coincide exactly with the 90th anniversary of the first flight of the B-17 prototype on July 28, 2035, from that very same airfield.

Collides With SAR Helicopter Now Out Of Service
We don’t know when all drone pilots will get the message, but we ARE fearful that at some point a pilot illegally flying a drone will cause a mid-air collision with tragic results. Fortunately for the helicopter pilot flying over Kerr County, Texas, searching for victims of the catastrophic flooding along the Guadalupe River, he was able to perform a successful emergency landing without injury.

A commercial operator out of Katama Airfield had a successful engine-out approach over July 4th Weekend, touching down on the sands of Chappaquiddick island after an untimely mechanical failure. Rescue a Testament to Air/Ground Collaboration in a Pinch
Maryland State Police Aviation Command completed a rescue over the long weekend, hoisting up the victim of a UTV accident in the backwoods with their AW139. The patient had rolled a small side-by-side utility vehicle in a remote mountain area, and was assessed by EMTS on-scene to be too critical for a ground rescue. As such, Trooper 5 of Cumberland, Maryland responded to the call. While the rescue was en route, ground EMS maintained the patient and prepped their package for the hoist.
