Chairman Paul Seehafer Introduces the “Forgotten Paradise” of EAA AirVenture:
Hidden between Reinke and McClarin Creeks, in an inviting cove off the shores of Lake Winnebago, exists EAA AirVenture’s own oasis, the EAA AirVenture Seaplane Base. Established as the center for all water-based aviation attendees in 1973, the base continues to be one of the most popular havens from the bustle of Wittman Field.
This year, 101 registered seaplanes and amphibians called the base home during EAA AirVenture. This astounding assembly would not have been possible without the support of over 180 dedicated EAA Seaplane Base volunteers.
Aero-TV had the opportunity and honor to speak with Paul Seehafer, Chairman of the EAA AirVenture Seaplane Base, about what he calls, “the yoga class in the middle of a rock concert.”
