Dynon Avionics has made a strategic investment in Trig Avionics. This investment brings Trig into the Dynon Group of companies and strengthens a long-standing partnership between the two innovators in general aviation. Dynon Avionics was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Woodinville, Washington. Dynon produces the SkyView HDX line of avionics for experimental, light sport, and type certificated aircraft. It also owns Advanced Flight Systems, which produces the AF-6000 avionics series, as well as the ADVANCEDPANEL offering that allows aircraft builders to install a finished avionics panel quickly. Trig Avionics is a European manufacturer of avionics, with a focus on transponders and other radio-based products.

Outdated 90s-Era Limitations on Power Output Degrade Service Experience

Avid users or would-be subscribers to satellite-based internet systems may be in luck soon, after the Federal Communications Commission voted to review a vintage set of spectrum rules as requested by SpaceX. The long and short of things: The older FCC rules limited the output of satellite systems in the interest of safeguarding the public airwaves and minimizing congestion, but new technology and a new dynamic in the satellite industry are shaking things up. The FCC’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking begins a formal proceeding to “enable greater and more intensive use of spectrum for space activities in the United States,” paving the way for better satcom service for subscribers–and more congested airwaves, if you ask the cell carriers.

The FAA announced that the agency will not move ahead with its policy of issuing denials of incomplete medical applications when the prior long-standing policy was to defer them until the applications were complete. The agency said it will instead work with the aviation community to establish initiatives that will give pilots information on best practices to facilitate their medical applications as well as assist the FAA in processing applications deferred by AMEs.
