Flights at London’s Heathrow Airport (LHR) were brought to a standstill on March 21 due to a fire at a nearby electrical substation. Some operations were able to pick back up around 14 hours later, but enough damage had been done to pin cancellations and delays on thousands of passengers.

Airbus Helicopters recently debuted the latest addition to its light twin-engine helicopter lineup: the H140. Unveiled at VERTICON, the H140 is designed for emergency medical services (EMS), passenger transport, and private and business aviation. The H140 is a 3-ton class helicopter positioned between the Airbus H135 and H145 models. It incorporates design elements based on feedback from H135 operators... Sikorsky announced its successful validation of advanced control laws to fly a prototype battery-powered rotor blown wing concept UAS in both helicopter and airplane models. Sikorsky made the announcement at this week’s HAI Verticon 2025 in Dallas, Texas, and said the 115-lb twin proprotor concept aircraft demonstrated operational stability and maneuverability across all regimes of flight including the transition from rotor-borne to wing-borne

Blue Ghost Sets Record as Longest Commercial Mission on the Moon

Firefly Aerospace’s Blue Ghost lunar lander successfully completed its NASA mission on March 16 after dropping off 10 instruments and capturing several photos and videos. The mission was conducted under NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) program. The lander remained on the Moon for around 14 Earth days.

Japan Airlines is pushing forward with its fleet replacement program as it announced an order for an additional 17 Boeing 737 Max 8 after ordering 21 of the same aircraft in March 2023. The Japanese flag airline is replacing its single-aisle Boeing 737-800 on domestic routes.
