JetBlue Pilot Shows Up For Work, Leaves in Cuffs

Pilot Arrested on Sexual Exploitation Charge Just Before Departing Boston Airport

A JetBlue pilot showed up at Boston Logan International Airport for a flight to Paris… with an outstanding warrant against him. He was escorted out and arrested on charges of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

On February 20, 33-year-old Jeremy Gudorf of Ohio was preparing to take the controls on JetBlue flight B6 33 from Boston’s Logan International Airport (BOS) to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). Shortly before the plane was scheduled to depart, US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) conducted a standard manifest check and flagged Gudorf for an active North Carolina warrant.

At around 8:40 pm, Gudorf was detained at the airport. Massachusetts State Patrol was then dispatched to arrest him. He was arraigned a day later in Boston Municipal Court on a fugitive from justice charge, to which he pleaded not guilty. His bail was set at $10,000 and he is expected back in Massachusetts court on March 19.

“We are aware of and closely reviewing the arrest of one of our pilots upon reporting for work at Boston’s Logan Airport Thursday evening due to an outstanding warrant,” read a JetBlue statement. “The pilot has been placed on indefinite leave as law enforcement proceeds with the matter.”

Gudorf’s warrant was posted for second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Huntersville police had received a tip about him from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children last October.

"Following an extensive investigation, a search warrant was obtained for Google, Inc., leading to the identification of the source of the reported images," Huntersville police stated. "Late last year, Google complied with the warrant and provided the necessary records to law enforcement. Based on the evidence gathered, [Huntersville] investigators secured an arrest warrant for Mr. Gudorf on charges of Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor."

As for the flight, JetBlue rushed to replace the crewmember and was able to send off the airplane around an hour and a half behind schedule. It arrived in Paris early the next morning.
