Lightweight Solutions for Experimentals Incoming

EDMO Distributors has added a new option in lightweight avionics to the North American market with a new lineup of MicroAir Avionics, bringing their compact gear into the biggest GA and Experimental market on Earth.

The MicroAir Avionics brand is most known for its Australian background, where it made the much-loved M760 compact radio for a quarter century. Since introducing the lightweight panel-mounted VHF radio, the brand has sold more than 14,000 of them, getting all the way up to the M760Q. They’ve added some features along the way, as they highlight, as they call it one of the world’s smallest panel mounts equipped with internal intercom, dual monitoring, AUX audio input, a 99-memory bank, and 5-watt transmitter.

While announcing the deal, EDMO highlighted some more of the lineup they felt merit attention, like the T3000 SkySuite Modular Avionics System. Its impending release (for the 2nd quarter this year) will bring a modular VHF comms set with a host of NAV sensors, transponder systems, and 20 selectable instrument faces, topped off with 15W of USB-C power at each seat and a 90-minute battery backup. The T3000 system has a number of modular additions on tap for those willing to flesh theirs out, like a Pitot Static Probe featuring full Air Data Computing and AHRS in a single unit. Buyers will end up with the same 3.1-inch instrument displays (2.1-inch touch screens) across the board, with the specific loadout determined by the chosen mission. MicroAir speaks highly of its modular quality, citing the ability to “purchase the complete system at once or gradually enhance your setup by adding capabilities and components over time.”

EDMO will have it all in stock and ready to go in no time at all, whether buyers are planning out an experimental build or stocking their certificated aircraft with a more compact and modern solution.
