Partnership With Azorra Leasing Proving Productive

Aleutian Airways, operated by Sterling Airways, announced a significant step in its mission of connecting communities within Alaska and beyond. The airline has acquired its first ATR-600 aircraft through a new partnership with Azorra Aircraft Leasing.

In addition to expanding the Aleutian fleet it opens new possibilities for additional destinations across the nation’s largest state with rugged terrain and some of the remotest locales in North America.

The airline’s current fleet of Saab 2000 turboprop aircraft have provided crucial support to Alaska’s thriving fishing, tourism, and resource sectors through its vital air service to Anchorage, Dutch Harbor, King Salmon, Homer, Cold Bay, Sand Point, and Kenai.

The range, efficiency, and short-runway performance of the ATR-600 will enable Aleutian Airways to serve even more communities, particularly those that were previously inaccessible by its current fleet.

The ATR-600 is known for its fuel efficiency, advanced avionics, and passenger comfort with a modern and spacious cabin and state-of-the-art cockpit. These features make the aircraft well-suited for Alaska’s demanding flying environment.
